Abington

As with much of the rest of Montgomery County, Abington was part
of the William Penn purchase of the 1680s. Incorporated in 1704
Abington swelled quickly to what we know it as today. The railroad
was a major factor to this when its first station was erected in 1873
and still stands today as Noble station. Home to the historic site of
The Battle of Edge Hill during the revolutionary war, Abington is rich
with history and culture. Dating back to before its actual
incorporation buildings still stand today of what was the
cornerstone settlement. The Abington friends School as well as
the cemetery of the Abington Presbytrian Church.

Abington is a first- ring suburb of Philadelphia with over 55,000 residents. Known for accessibility, affordability and diverse neighborhoods, the Township has thriving residential and business communities that made the Township a desirable location to live, work and play.
